Erick Schonfeld from TechCrunch looks at the online travel industry’s concern at Google’s proposed $700 million acquisition of flight data powerhouse ITA Software. Expedia, Kayak, Travelocity, and TripAdvisor are lobbying the Justice Department fearing that if the purchase goes through it will unfairly affect the $80 billion Online travel business by marginalizing competition which will ultimately raise prices for consumers.
